This reminds me of the story my friend told me. He was working in family law in North Carolina. A fellow wanted to marry his below-age love. When learning that was this was illegal, he asked if he could “get custody of her.” What’s the difference, really?
After reading the link, I feel like there should be “Mandatory Minimum” sentences not for drugs…but rather for people who commit crimes that demonstrate that they've completely missed the point of being a human being.
